I've heard of Lent, I'm not talking Lint or belly button fuzz her kids, and I've participated here and there but never really thought about it. So this year when asked what I was going to "give up" for Lent I decided to really put some thought into it.
I'm divorced. You might know this. I co-facilitate an Oasis Divorce Recovery group at my church. You might know this also. Besides discovering a great deal about myself in this group, both as a participant and a facilitator I think I've also figured out why most relationships fail or succeed.
Yes I have the secret as to why your current and past relationships either failed, succeeded or might fail / be successful. This is a lot of power to have, a lot of insight to bear and I'm going to share it with you now. It all boils down to one word.
I'm supposed to be working on my big project right now but I can't. I promised God I'd come to Starbucks and get right into the code, after I checked my email and my news. It was my mission today, it was my goal, it was the one thing I PROMISED God I would do.
But I'm not doing it. Instead I'm sitting here writing this blog post and God couldn't be happier. Why? Because it's something He's had on my heart for a long time. It started with a concern for a friends brother, grew into a concern for my niece when she gets older and through other avenues has turned into a concern for my future kids.
So excuse me while I indulge in this. If you find it useful pass it along. If you have your own advice leave a comment. If you think I'm wrong, leave a comment or email me but don't feel like you have to be silent.
But I have to write this. So here goes....
You know some news you just don't blog, but in this case I'm making an exception. I've been and am being pretty transparent to all of you. Trying to put myself out there. Expose to you who I really am.
So it's only fair that you my loyal reader be the first to hear about this news. I honestly didn't believe it either but it's true.
I'm going to be a father.....
Friday Night I stepped out of my comfort zone a bit. I went up to Kennesaw to hang with a buddy. He's a great guy, someone I know from here and there (mostly church) but have never really hung out with. Well he extended an invitation to come up and hang at his place with a bunch of his friends. I figured why not, he's a cool guy and I can always use more friends.
