Those who know me from church know God controls my life. Those who've known me in the past probably say "yea right" or think this is just a phase. Over the past months it's become more and more apparent just how awesome it is for God to control my life, and I can say this is not a "phase" to those nay-sayers

Seriously. Seriously? Seriously!

I can hear the Gasps's across the internet now. "Eric has stopped watching a 7|22 session, you know what that means? That session must have really stunk!" Well I'm afraid to burst your bubble but I'm pretty sure it didn't stink at all. Margaret Feinberg and her book Organic God are both amazing. She's a very personable person, a very real person and her book really does outline some basic and simple ideas which we should all try to follow or adapt into our own lives.
No the reason I had to stop the video is because I knew what was coming at the end. The whole time I'm sitting there watching it (I got just 1/3 of the way through Margaret talking) I can't help but think about the last 20 minutes of the night. Which, by the way, I was able to catch after leading my Oasis group.
Ideas are powerful. This was the theme of a sermon Andy gave a few weeks back entitled My Summer Vacation. Andy along with his family took a trip to Rwanda, saw a lot of amazing things and shared with us an amazing story of forgiveness. If you've ever had a hard time forgiving someone, or even yourself, then you need to go find this sermon and listen to it. If after that sermon you still can't find forgiveness tell me and I'll pray for you.
The other theme which came out of this sermon was how ideas are powerful. Even simple ideas can have lasting impacts on our life in both positive and negative ways. Ideas like collecting money for a charity during a normal sunday coffee social, or trying to use art to teach others about Christ, and of course creating a movie and a movement to show people that a homeless person is a person too just like you and me.
Man what a weekend! God's blessings occur in so many ways and I got a lot of them this weekend. They can be as simple as dinner with friends after church, a full day in the park soaking up God's glory, or as grand as filling a 620 person theater with 633 people. No matter how they happen, they all have a point, they are all special and I love Him for them.
Trust me I want to blog. I have a bunch of ideas in my head that I haven't been able to get online, or on paper. Ask my friends, they've all heard me in the past week at least once say "man I need to blog about XX".
But I haven't. I've neglected all 3 of you, my loyal readers. Who knows maybe I'm up to 4 people by now.
I have good reason though. This friday a group of people I'm so fortunate enough to be a part of is having a major event. They have been working for over a year with one goal in mind and this friday we all get to experience it. My Concrete Mattress will debut in Dublin GA this friday the 11th of July. I am in such awe of the guys and girls who have made this movie and who help to make The Unthinkable Project a success. God has really worked in all of our lives to make this a reality and we all know there have been many times when it would have just failed without Him.
So check out the promo trailer below. Maybe even reserve a seat for yourself. If nothing else pray for us and all the volunteers (close to 50) who will be helping us make this a reality come friday night.
