Jonese's Blog

Many people will undoubtably want to know why I decided to start blogging, for some it will be why did I start blogging, again? Do I enjoy the attention, probably a bit. Do I NEED the attention, definitely not. I blog in the hopes that something I say provokes a thought in another person and springs them into action. This could be a negative or positive action I don't know. They point is that people will hopefully DO something because of the thoughts printed here. So many of us sit idle as the world whizzes by and never once do we reach out to offer our opinions or thoughts. Meanwhile whole countries are restricted from talking about issues, or their thoughts, dreams and hopes. I'm fortunate enough to live in a country which allows me to say just about anything I want.

I'm a geek at heart and proud to admit it. Mind you I'm not a nerd, I don't wear a pocket protector. I don't have tape holding my glasses together (I actually have 20/20 vision). I don't spout of weird acronyms and words which make no sense to those around. Ok so I DO do that last bit, but only when another geek is around. I love technology and I love to see how it's both helping and shaping the world in which we live. That being said some of my posts will be VERY geeky. I develop web sites and web applications for a living so I will chime in from time to time about items of that subject. It's ok if you ignore those posts, I half expect you too.

I also love photography but I'm not very good at it. I got a Nikon D40x for Christmas in 2007 and I'm slowly getting back into it. I used to do a LOT of B&W photograph back before everything went digital, so I'm still trying to cope, which is odd for someone as geeky as me. You'd think I could just pick it up and instantly know what I'm doing. For the most part I do but I am horrible at Photoshop so a lot of my pictures sit on my computer just waiting to have their full potential realized.

I'm horrible at spelling. I'll try to catch most of my mistakes but let's just be honest with each other. We both know I'm going to misspell words here and there, I've accepted this and so should you. In other words don't tell me I misspelled something unless it really makes me look like an idiot. Also I'm not big on capitalizing every sentence or word. So don't be surprised if you read a post where everything is in lower case as it's probably just me being lazy.

I am an open book, most of the time. I have no problem sharing my feelings, thoughts, dream etc with people. Some things though I will only share with those people who know me. So if I say something here and you want to know more contact me. If you I know you then you'll probably get an answer and if I don't well sorry but something's just aren't meant for the entire world to know.

I am a Christian. I believe that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. I believe in God. I go to church and attend other church related activities. I mention this here, not to point a finger at those of you who don't "subscribe" to my beliefs but more of a friendly warning. I will talk about my religion here, and I will talk about my journey's etc. If you don't agree with what I say GREAT! If you don't believe what I say GREAT! I'm not asking you to. I respect your right to follow WHATEVER religion or belief system or anti-religion you choose. So please respect my choice.
